Scan as you shop

If you are a myWaitrose member, you can use Quick Check or Scan, Pay, Go. It’s simple, and one of the fastest ways to shop with us in store. Just scan and pack as you shop, then pay at the Self Checkout Area.

Fast-track your shopping

1 Swipe

Swipe your myWaitrose card at the Quick Check rack to release a handset. If you don’t have a myWaitrose card, join here.

2 Scan and pack

Scan the barcode on each item and pack straight into your bags. If you have trouble scanning an item, keep it to one side and let a Partner know at the checkout.

3 Pay

Scan the ‘End your shop’ barcode located at the checkouts, then pay and go. There’s no need to unpack your bags and your myWaitrose benefits will be automatically applied.

If you prefer, you can use your smartphone as a handset. Visit Google Play or the App Store and search for 'Waitrose', then download the Quick Check Mobile app. Follow the on-screen instructions to get started.

Tips for using Quick Check

1 SCAN ALL ITEMS

You need to scan every item before placing it into your bag, including products on offer – even when it is buy one get one free. Some promotions will not register on your handset but will be applied when you check out.

2 Weigh items

Some fruit and vegetables need to be weighed. Place your product on the scales in the aisle and follow instructions to get a barcode label.

3 CHECK Loose items

Some fruit, vegetables and bakery items don’t have a barcode on the product. Use the ‘Scan me’ barcode on the shelf edge.

4 Security tags

Scan the item and keep it separate in your trolley. Declare the item to a Partner at the checkout to have the tag removed.

Occasional rescans

As part of the process, we’ll occasionally rescan your shop, just to make sure that you’re charged correctly. Our Partners will assist you with this process.
